Good Evening Everyone,

I have in the last month brought the V8S, it downloads program from the internet and I can watch them except the sky ones.

The biggest problem is what are the DO's and Don't Do for this box

I setup the Box with Static IP from what I understand that is fine,

The firmware is the one in the Upgrade via Internet that works

There is an other which is called TP_PROG.dbs , I have used the latest from the upgrade procedure , BUT WHAT IS IT PLEASE

Also I found the CCcam.cfg file, had on entry in it, but could not read it.. I presume this code is there to decode signal from sky

The line had a tick at the end of the line, but it says offline, sometimes it says online, seem to switch on and off at will :) Ghost

Hi,

The TP_Prog.dbs is your channel list, have a look on this forum for the section which contains the latest update, you need to keep your channel list up to date to keep channels.

The CCcam.cfg file is your line, this is what is needed to get all the "goody" channels, if your is offline and then online and then offline you need to contact your provider to find out why, if its a gift off fleabay then don't expect this gift to work for long or be a decent service, 99% are utter rubbish and last weeks, just search the forum for all the horror stories.

Take time to look round the forum for info and advice on how to purchase a line and how to install it, all the info you need is already posted, the search function of the forum is your best friend now.

Thank you for your help, that has answered a few questions, are you saying that if a few channels change in the TP_Prog.dbs this will stop all scrambled programs from working
Or just those which are wrong please..

sly move channels around, add new channels and remove others, the TP_Prog.dbs file will keep your box up to date with these changes for you, just keep loading the latest channel list to keep getting all channels.

You are totally right this unit came from ebay, I have spent over a month going back and forwards with this person, he is not English, and cant understand much of what I am saying.
So I thought I would try this forum before throwing it in the bin...

You are not the first and wont be the last to get strung on fleabay gifts but now you have found the right forum to keep your box running and get all the help and support you need for happy viewing :)

I tried looking around for the tp_prog, I must be looking in the wrong place, could you point me to the correct place please..
