I've got openwebif working really nicely over the local network but have no idea how to access it remotely over 4g or from my girlfriends network.
Can anyone advise how to set it up and access from outside the local network?
You need a dynamic ddns service to give your local IP address a static name, and then port forward from your router to the ZG
I've not set it up myself as you have to open port 80 and I've already got that in use for a NAS box I need to access from anywhere. Might have to reconfigure that and have a fiddle.
Log in to your router and port forward for the zgemma (the best way to see the ports you need to forward is on the webif page on pc when you open a stream to watch you will see port number at end also on the zgemma webif app on the box change the port number and forward that as well so you now have to entries)
next go to a site like whatismyip this is the address you will use to connect in.
Portmaru, that will work only as long as the public IP remains in place by your ISP. They tend to last 3 days unless you have a stactic one. The dynamic ddns service removes this requirement as it automatically maps to your public IP.
