Optimum visual settings

I'm running the superb wooshbuild image,

I have a 42" LG HD tv

I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips or ideas on the best visual settings to run.

I just feel the picture is a tad grainy in comparison to my dm800 hd and the picture seems to auto adjust on a few channels, etc
