OScam - pixellation/timeouts

No worries, enjoy ;)

BBC interactive - snooker at the moment seems ok ecm ~1.34
Heat is horrendous and I experienced actual freezing for a fews secs at a time ecm 2.43!!

Your readers or set wrong. your protocol is a newcamd, but you have cccam versions setup

a reader setup for a newcamd should be something like this:-

[reader]
label = Sat Tv
protocol = newcamd
device = xyz.com,10000
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
user = XXXX
password = XXXX
inactivitytimeout = 60
group = 1
emmcache = 1,3,31,0
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-u = 1
blockemm-s = 1
blockemm-g = 1

I did wonder about the ccc entries, I looked at a friends config and he is using cccam.

I have made the change but seem to be getting more timeouts in the logs. But I will give this a good test tomorrow and report back.

Thanks leader ;)

I'm trying 1 tuner now just and Heat is still a no-go! On either cam. It's not that I really want the channel - I just want it cause I can't have it now! :)

Can anyone else test their Heat channel please on cable??? Sat fine!

And their bbc interactive actually???

your problem also is you have both groups as = 1 each reader should have its own group like this

[reader]
label = Satellite
protocol = newcamd
device = myserver.dydns.net
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
user = user
password = pass
group = 1
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-u = 1
blockemm-s = 1
blockemm-g = 1

[reader]
label = Cable
protocol = newcamd
device = myserver.dydns.net
key = 0102030405060708091011121314
user = user
password = pass
group = 2
blockemm-unknown = 1
blockemm-u = 1
blockemm-s = 1
blockemm-g = 1

[account]
user = Me
uniq = 1
monlevel = 2
keepalive = 1
group = 1,2

Keep everything simple or else things do go wrong

Hey FreeUK,

just applied the new config.

Just to confirm that I understood correctly, the last part starting with [account] I have amended and used in oscam.user.
Also one other thing, as I am referencing the newcamd protocol this doesn't reference the newcamdlist in /usr/keys does it as that is used by mgcamd? All required line info is already provided in oscam.server, correct?

Oscam doesn't use anything in usr / keys. just what is provided in oscam.server file.

Ok, not really had a chance to do any extensive tests, but preliminary testing appears to suggest that main channels are ok now.
Bangord30 - Strangely I can now no longer access Heat on cable! lol
But I am using a different provider to yesterday so it could be down to that, it's fine on sat. Do you have issues accessing MTV Live HD as well? This tunes in sometimes but not others.
Changing channels (zapping?) appears to be quite a bit slower than on sat in cable as well.

Will test properly tomorrow, thanks FreeUK & leader ;)

Glad you sorted mate. I think everyone could be in the same sitch re heat, MTV HD then, BBC interactive and smash hits also if check? My heat came back after a few ecm requests but still high ecms and freezing. That's 3/4 of us I know of the same.

I think you could be right bud, I also noticed issues with Smash Hits last night. Although BBC interactive appeared to be ok, again I didn't really get to test for too long in terms of viewing.
Heat wasn't tuning in at all and MTV HD did sometimes but then froze and wouldn't tune in again. I'll get to test more tonight as will be watching sports, so that should confirm if the original pixellation has been cured.
I'm hoping it is, given that the server config was referencing cccam and newcamd :)

Morning all,

watching sports last night was a success, no pixellation occurred. So hopefully the main problem is fixed :woohoo:

Thanks to everyone for your help and input, it's much appreciated 👍

Good stuff mate! My sport, movies was fine but a few folk seem to be having problems with the other channels we did. Maybe just coincidence! I'll be trying a booster next...
