The nominees for the 83rd Academy Awards have been announced ahead of the ceremony on 27 February 2011.

The nominees for Best Actress are: Annette Benning ('The Kids Are Alright'), Nicole Kidman ('Rabbit Hole'), Jennifer Lawrence ('Winter's Bone'), Natalie Portman ('Black Swan') and Michelle Williams ('Blue Valentine').
The nominees for Best Actor are: Javier Bardem ('Biutiful'), Jeff Bridges ('True Grit'), Jesse Eisenberg ('The Social Network'), Colin Firth ('The King's Speech') and James Franco ('127 Hours').
Amy Adams ('The Fighter'), Helena Bonham Carter ('The King's Speech), Melissa Leo ('The Fighter'), Hailee Steinfeld ('True Grit') and Jacki Weaver ('Animal Kingdom') are in the running for Best Supporting Actress.
Shortlisted in the Best Supporting Actor category are Christian Bale ('The Fighter'), John Hawkes ('Winter's Bone'), Jeremy Renner ('The Town'), Mark Ruffalo ('The Kids Are All Right') and Geoffrey Rush ('The King's Speech').
The 10 nominees for Best Film are: 'Black Swan', 'The Fighter', 'Inception', 'The Kids Are Alright', 'The King's Speech', '127 Hours', 'The Social Network', 'Toy Story 3', 'True Grit' and 'Winter's Bone'.
Darren Aronofsky ('Black Swan'), David O Russell ('The Fighter'), Tom Hooper ('The King's Speech'), David Fincher ('The Social Network') and Joel and Ethan Coen ('True Grit') are the nominees for Best Director.
The Best Foreign Film nominees are: 'Biutiful' (Mexico), 'Dogtooth' (Greece), 'In a Better World' (Denmark), 'Incendies' (Canada) and 'Outside the Law' (Algeria).
'How to Train Your Dragon', 'The Illusionist' and 'Toy Story 3' are nominated for Best Animated Film.
