picons not showing up on history zap

done a manual build based on kiddacs guide.
all working OK except picons not showing up.
they are downloaded and the files are on the storage device.
however they are not showing up on the history zap screen (which is the only place i would have the displaying anyway).

any ideas why they aren't showing?

still can't get this to work for some reason.
downloaded the picons.xyz feed.
downloaded the snp icons of my choice.
still none show
 
i would say thats the problem the snp, i could never get them to work
try the ones i have in my sig, just ftp over to the root of the system of the root of hdd, usb pr sd card
just to rule that out or download some srp ones
 
what's weird is that i'm using the exact same ones on another box with no problems.
i assume you don't need to rescan or reboot after installing picons
 
i don't have picons set to show on inforbar or epg, just on history zap screen.
just installed the SRP ones and they show up OK.
so i guess it's a problem with SNP.
 
nah.... it's working so will leave it.
what's the difference between SNP and SRP anyway?
 
ah so if a channel changes its name slightly then the icon will still work assuming the code remains the same with SRP?
and with SNP it would need a new file?
 
think i spoke too soon.
picons aren't showing for BT sports channels. all others OK though (well ones that i've noticed).
 
Depends how up to date the picons are.
some are more out of date than others.

Which srp ones did you go for
 
Oh big picons and around 8000 of them
i just checked the picons.xyz site and there was a Update today

the Srp code can change any time, that's the down side to srp
 
They are just very big. Depends on what skin you are using. Some have wrong for super large picons
but if you are using slyk skin it only has room for I think it's 100 pixels wide. So your picons are 4 times bigger than that
