Pixilation on Eurosport 1HD

TK Veteran
been struggling with bad pixilation on Eurosport 1HD all morning used to be like this a while ago but its back now, recently had vm internet installed and its the first time i've had this channel on since then.
my old setup was wire straight from wall into a forward pass equaliser 8db then into zgemma although I don't actually think the FPE made any difference. didn't have vm but cable was live.
my setup now is cable from wall coming in going into splitter then into hub 3.0 and into zgemma

pixilation

hmmmm so when I was uploading them pictures my tv went worse, also pixilation when watching a video on youtube but not half as bad. I wonder what could be causing these problems it only seems to be this channel

pixellation is more than likely signal strength, while on that channel press the OK button twice and see if you can see a SNR figure, it should be up in the 90% range. If it's low then check your connections

sd runs perfect so does every other channel just a problem with HD version.

grog, check my OP and click signal finder I uploaded a pic of it. I don't think its a signal strength issue, it only seems to happen when I am browsing the internet while connected to the vm hub, almost like its pulling power from my box to load up a page but only on the 1 channel bit of a strange one

I assume you put the splitter in yourself after VM left? - make sure everything is tightened up
you need a short cable from that to the box, no long cables as this causes pixellation, also sloppy connections, they need to be compression fittings, try the 1.5m Tratec cables on ebay (£3) - they have green moulded ends and are excellent quality
if you want me to check the power levels, post them here
on the bottom of the router is a 'settings password' write it down
open a browser window on laptop and type 192.168.0.1, click enter
use that password to login to the router
click Advanced settings on the left, then tools>network status
this opens a new page, click Downstream tab at the top and it'll show all the data in a list
copy and paste it here

VM didn't attend the property as we already had a live feed, its an old telewest feed with compression fittings. I removed this cable and pushed the cable provided with the hub 3.0 into the wall then the other end into that splitter, with the old cable I cut it in half and installed one of them on each end. the cut cable is no longer than 1m each one of which goes into the router the other into the box

those are near perfect so it's not the power levels or snr, it's the cut cable causing the pixellation, get one of these from ebay and problem will be solved

hi

im all of a sudden having problems with BTSPort1hd for some reason instead of the channel clearing, the pixelated version of the channel i was previously on appears, runs for abit then freezes and then runs again pixelated. abit strange. All other VM channels are fine. I updated ABM and ran it but still same issue area 40961

pixellation is caused by faulty splitter/cables.
or you could have power level issues, read the post above and send the power levels, dbmv should be between -6 and 10, SNR should be 38 or above, the higher the better, below 34.5 is useless

its fixed it somewhat as it doesn't pixelate at all when I browse the web but still getting pixilation's when uploading files/upload speed test, going to get another to go from splitter to HUB 3.0
