Ramp for house heavy duty

20 odd years ago i made a ramp of 3/4" chipboard about 30" wide and about 3 foot long and now is too steep to easily get up the ramp and into kitchen.

Used in getting a wheelchair up and down , sack truck with massive gas bottle back then .

With mobility getting worse i was very nervous going down with rollator as too steep.

Ramp i made up had lump of wood with 2 screws going down onto dexion screwed to step and was removable but now need a longer one to lessen the angle.

Will also have to get supports to aid getting up the ramp on either side and have got a wall mounted support i can use on one side and dexion bracket from shelving unit to wall and old grab rail that was removed from the stairs

I will also be moving a large wheelie bin with compost DOWN THE WIDE RAMP . 2 ramps not an option as walking on the centre of them

I have a nurse dropping in to check on me on Thursday to see how things are going.

More of ideas of what can be used / needed as i dont want a permanant fixture in front of shelving units

Got lucky as local had a ramp second hand for 50 euro as how can raise the wooden ramp up maybe 6" and then attach this with another extended angle.

2 holes in top of ramp can be secured to wood platform.

I got AGE ACTION out to add a few more bits like a drop down handrail used in a bathroom on a flat wall but my wall is large pebbledash and makes it more ackward to fit..
Second hand rail i had was removed from stairs and cut in house to be thrown out but held onto it.
One thing i have plenty of is dexion and was able to bolt it to an upright shelving unit and got him to screw into wall. added a few screws to hold hand rail on top.

I had leftover plywood i got him to fix under the chipbord to give it some more strength and a 4" x 3" to raise it up off the ground and less steep for rollator going up and down. Having bought short Aluminium ramps i just asked him to drop long screws into those hold to hold it in place and removed quickly if needed.

Dexion now you are going back in time for me my garden shed frame is made from that sectional that I made at work about 35 years back and cladded with british aerospace blue hanger sheets :)

Yes Dexion was a great thing of the past and do many things with it and when doing brake pads sometimes came with new bolts and so i saved all the old ones and used them when putting things together.

Even built a 20 foot run for an alpine bench to take clay pots and me if i climbed up there with tongue and groove boards and covered in a roll of black plastic and capillary matting. Now all gone to hell.
