Yes, this box has both a satellite (dvb-s2) and cable (dvb-c) tuner.

As already mentioned a couple of times in this thread, you'll need to purchase a line to put on the box which clears the subscription channels. Lines for use in the ROI differ to the ones used in the UK and are a bit more difficult to obtain and usually more expensive.

you will have to pay for a 'line'
a piece of code you enter into you box, that will connect it to a server that will unscramble the channels for you

what do you mean vm package I don't have one the channels come in there self when I tune in tv , I live in a block of appartments and the cable is there , all I did was search for digital channels , my caretaker plugged the cable in for me downstairs :)
