You will need a Null Modem Cable RS232 with full handshaking!.

Download this - Upgrade_PVR800_HD_Tool.rar - Downloads - TechKings


It is zipped with winrar so if you don't have it you will need this to extract it - WinRar - Downloads - TechKings

Open the upgrade tool it will open in WinRAR.

Extract to your desktop or location of your choice.

You will now have a folder containing these files.

With the box turned off at the mains plug the null modem cable into the box and into your pc.

Run the Loader named EromUpgrade and select browse, pop box will load select the abs file as below.

Make sure the correct com port is selected.

Now switch the box on and press NEXT then follow the instructions to load the firmware.

If the process does not start, try various time combinations of switching the box ON after selecting “next”

Don’t switch the power off or disconnect while the download & flash is taking place.

Hi I am trying to download this firmware as I have a openbox v8 stuck on LOAD iv tried the other firmware but its just stagnant when I do power on. Please could you pointed I the correct place to download this firmware. Thank you

i have tried this with both firmware and still no joy it just stays on SYNCHRONIZING STBS for ages and does nothing.
any other ideas? thank you for your time.

Tell exactly what leads you're using. A null modem cable alone will not work if it's not connected the box AND computer by rs232!

for those who have problems in loading firmware rs232 cable, looking in this forum, how to unlock my openbox v8s, use the tools mentioned in the first posts of this thread, the decoder loaded the firmware but stayed in 93 in the boot process, then showing E001 on the dial, after trying everything on what I read in this thread I noticed that on the front of my decoder I was putting openbox V8S PLUS wifi 4G, instead of openbox v8S wifi 3G, and I found a firmware on the page of another brand of decoders (sol * box) a firmware that I charge perfectly and I was able to recover the decoder, I apologize for my English, because I have no idea and I write this with a translator, no I know how to upload said firmware, or if it is allowed to do it, likewise I do not know if it is allowed to refer to other brands of decoders, for which I have edited the brand in parentheses, but I am at your disposal to provide it to friends of the forum by private or email, likewise I apologize in case you have transgressed any rule of the forum by writing this post, and in such case I ask forum administrators to edit it if necessary, thank you
