Help!!! I have a dead sky box stuck on load skyboxf3 please can anyone help me ? I need to know how and what to download in order to get it up and running again?

Everything you need to know and do including what you need is contained in this thread---do a little bit of reading and you will find a cure for your box or at least 99% of problems can be cured.

Thanks The Reaper,you said what a lot of people have wanted to say.All that anyone needs to know is in the thread /Read through the thread and the answers are there.Also when people ask for help and have managed to fix their boxes, an update would be welcome so that other people with similar problems can benefit from their experience.

thanks REAPER! I have tried to update my box using the methods on here but with no luck, I am getting confused when downloading the F/W and also the tool do I have to open them both in WIN RAR? because I have done that but still not working? sorry I am fairly new to this any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

Hi tried this it started working then hung up on lo74.. Rebooted to flash again and keep getting stb error. Tried everything any suggestions
 
mine is failing to go beyound the first screen. still waiting to see the word "DONE" after 15mins. is it safe to cancel and start all over with an optional soaftware please?
 
Asusbox-----ensure your com port settings correct. When ready and file selected then press next---now power on box when wording reset target appears and if com correct then word done will appear.

MLG----get your upgrade tool and files at SkyBox | SkyBox


Dinohead----try different files.

All info is somewhere within this ever growing thread-----it just takes patience but remember if your box is bricked with dim figure 8 and faint red light then chances of revival are very low.

DONE should appear within a few seconds. I will add this to the tut. It's one of those things that you take for granted after having flashed so many boxes, until someone points it out.

Are you using a pc/laptop with built-in RS232 connector? If so, it is usually COM1, but it won't hurt to try COM2.

If you are using a USB to serial converter, then device manager will show you the correct port. My Prolific adapter on my Win7 machine shows as COM3 (even though there isn't already a COM1 or COM2 listed).

I have updated the first post to include notes about using a Prolific USB to serial adapter.

You may need to adjust some advanced settings in Device manager.

Managed to reboot f5 and was running sweet.
Ihink I have a motherboard fault as it goes off after 10 mins and I have to reboot. Left the motherboard out of the case and it ran all night !!!
Moved the board the next day and it lasted two minutes before crashing.
Will resolder and I will see how it goes.
