hi, when I scan for cable channels I find about 60-100 channels and I know I should be getting around 300-400 does anyone know why this is happening or is virgin up to something like blocking me from scanning.

make sure you have correct ID for your area

Get the exact area for your tuner set-up, and make sure you are on either..telewest..pure..ntl on your autobouquetsmaker. m8

That's because you are using the wrong netid.
6952 can't be found anywhere on this page, which means it's not a valid netid:

Find your area/city and put the netid in correctly and rescan

Net ID is not used for conventional scanning in the UK and Ireland. In tuner configuration, just live it at 00000. Select the correct system you are in. If not sure, select all Virgin Media UK (all systems) or leave as the very first entry "cable brute force"

Net ID does matter when using ABM. Or Lraizer's plugin unless in a pure area.

If you still only get a few channels when tuner is set as "all systems", it will be a signal issue.

Netid is just so that you get regional programmes in your bouquets etc, no good having BBC 1 Scotland if you live in Bristol
