so today after being with vermin for nearly 20years i decided to try sky fibre. My iptv is now not working? definitely not the service as i can see others connected on the panel. when i connect with vermin its all good- tried turning off sly shield and still nothing and also diasbled the firewalls. cant connect through wifi or direct ethernet- tried my mobile phone too over wifii and still not having out.

looks like i'm gonna need a vpn router- can anyone recommend me a router please- looking for allready setup one for plug an play ease. Dont want or need to change iptv provider.

ebay links or anything please? thansk
 
not locked to mac address -i've got access to panel- tried smart iptv, zgemma, gse player. strange thing is couple others connect no problem with sly fibre? -works fine once switching over to vermin network?

when changing sly shield settings-how long does it take ? it mentioned something about 1 hr??
 
maybe your ip addresses are blocked, switch router off for a bit and see if you are assigned a different ip, other than that im at a loss,

you could try a free vpn on the pc and see if you can connect
 
I read on another thread recently that you need to actually ring Sly and ask them to switch Sly Shield off, something about it being different that the one you can switch off via your online account......sorry, I cant find the actual post.......worth a try though, tell them you need it switching off for online gaming or something like that. The other post seemed to suggest that this worked for someone else in your position.
 
I have a vpn router, its a Linksys WRT 1900ACS. But, its router only so I bought a openreach modem to get me to my fibreline. This replaced the BT Hub5
Had to dd it myself but you can buy them done, I did it myself and saved a couple hundred quid.
 
I've got sky fibre broadband with sky shield turned on (for kids sake online) and my iptv runs fine with sky's broadband I've had it a couple of months now as mentioned could be a fixed mac address
 
I think I'm having this exact issue now on NOWTV fibre. It works then as soon as I plug in the MAG box no devices connected to the hub work. It as been working up until today.

you got a fix ip set up on the mag box, sounds like a conflict of ip addresses
 
No fixed IP, just using the router DHCP. Its strange - as soon as I connect my MAG box all traffic on the router seems to stop
