Shingles

Not sure if you already said or if you feel comfortable answering, but I'm curious about your age? Do you think that played a big role in your recovery time? I remember my grandad always saying that the older he got, the worse and more battered he felt whenever he got sick. It makes me wonder if age really does have such a significant impact on how our bodies handle illnesses like Shingles.

Thanks all headaches subsiding which is good, no new spots most are starting to scan but got awful pain around the ear itself and stupid stabbing pains in the big spots I feel like I've been in the UFC
I feel your pain, I had shingles about 10 years ago, started with intense back pain no idea what was causing it, then the itchy rash appeared , mate suggested shingles, rang doctors for emergency appointment which I got, shingles verified and given antibiotics and painkillers, was ruff for about 3 weeks, got called in this year for shingles injection, took reaction to it, felt like shingles from years back, minus rash, floored me for 4 days, muscle in arm still sore, feels like dead arm, glad you got diagnosed eventually, trying to get doctors appointment now is a nightmare here (oxford) think I was the only English speaking person in waiting room when I went for the injection, person infront of me had someone interpreting for them which was holding up queue, turned out they should have been at hospital appointment and not doctors surgery , didn't go down well poor receptionist got the brunt of it, took about 15 minutes and 2 receptionists to explain they were in wrong place, nightmare ,

well I'm finally over it no more sharp pains its took 6-7 weeks for me to get rid but I put that down to been an old git, you don't fight things as good. One cause it a weak immune system so I think I need to get my blood checked make sure I'm not lacking in something alcohol, curry, kebabs. As for the doctors ? I think mine is on par with one of the worse. I went the other day took 10 days to see a doctor regarding a foot issue anyway he prescribed me Capsaicin cream the doctor said keep looking for it I thought strange thing to say. So I went to the Tesco chemist gave him the prescription the just laughed. The pharmacist said " Who's give you that prescription ?" I tells him the Pharmacist says "That's not been made for years the company went bust years ago your doctor should know that".

The system is broken, the NHS is ready to implode I dont blame staff they do a brilliant job I blame the whole set up and trying to do it without charge its crazy. I'm not going all political but I think without people paying say £5 a month everyone working non working then were knackered.

Glad your feeling better, couldn't imagine being ill for 7 weeks that's horrific, and that is a bit concerning too maybe you should take a look at changing doctors
