Skybox f5s - current firmware

Hi all,

Couple of quick questions

1) Just bought a Skybox F5S on Amazon - does anyone know if this box will come with firmware installed?

2) If the box doesn't come with firmware is this the current firmware for this box SKYBOX_F3S_F5S_3601HD_CMT_14041006DA.abs? If not can someone supply link to the current firmware?

If the box did not have firmware installed it would not work!!!!
You don't need to update firmware on these boxes. It's Linux boxes that you can alter. Flashing new firmware on these boxes only runs the risk of ruining the eprom.

It depends on how old the firmware is that's currently on the box, as to whether it needs new firmware.

If you get sound but no picture on Boxnation, Baby TV, H2, GEO UK, Sony max, plus a few others, and you want 7 day EPG (with the 1 hour BST fix), then you need the latest firmware.

Castebarred...the firmware you mention in your post is the latest.

You also have to know who manufactured YOUR box, as there are lots of different firmwares out there for different manufacturers. Flashing with the wrong firmware can destroy the box.
