hi i am new to all this just learning and reading etc just was woundering as any one used one of these and what are the main purpose and are they any good

they do work well i have tested one in my friends flat. as long as you get a good mobile phone signal
 
thanks mike how does it work is it free our do you top it up like a pay as you go phone do you also still need a dish

no, you have to pay it is just the sim card from a wifi dongle. it may work using your mobile sim card although i have not tested it.
 
thanks mike so does this replace the sat dish as well then our do you still need the dish i have looked all over google for info on this what cim card does your mate use and whats it like on cost of using please
 
you will need a sat dish. i think he pays about £10.00 per month with an allownce of 2gig which is more than enough.

i have no clue but they are all around the same. you can go pay as you go i think it is expensive though. plus if you have a fairly new phone i would try the sim card in that.
 
well got me self a G1S GPRS DONGLE put me sim in did all the rest went to setting etc reboot back to setting setup no ip adress any help on how to set this G1S GPRS DONGLE up would be great as i have been at it for hours please

i think i need to change this file name to suite me sim card Init cmd any one know what it is for network 3 our 02 please

Please post valid GPRS settings for each UK network that has been tested and worked for anyone on SKYBOX
