Sony Bravia TV Storage Expansion?

I recently purchased tivimate premium to use with IPTV and today I tried recording a football game.

I came home and the tivimate app wouldn't open. I found out the TV storage was small and full so cleared all app data and deleted some things and it opened again.

Now I'm looking to expand the storage so I can record things. What's the best way to do this? Is there a standard thing most people are doing? Just a USB in the TV or something better?

I'm using a Netac 250gb usb solid state drive in my Bravia, not tried anything else as it works well.

Just plug in and set tivimate to store recordings on that?

Sorry I don't use tivimate but its set as the recording device in the Bravia menu.

Good reply this i never managed to get a storage device to enable on a bravia might have been a different model

So I could get it working, but I had to format the USB as an internal storage device, and then transfer the data over to it, it prompted me. Then the natural recording location was on the USB.
