splitter causing signal loss?

I am getting picture freeze on certain channels, but the two boxes are behind a 3 way splitter I fitted which I think may be causing the problem, the box furthest away from it, which is worst is showing BER in the 8*** range where the box next to the splitter is roughly half in the 4*** range. I have another splitter that has 6db marked on each port. Is this the correct rating for ex TW VMedia and will the signal gain 6db?

what worries me is did you get an attenuator to lower signal as you mentioned those figures.3 way splitter in photo

So you think the figures suggest the signal is too high? I have one or two attenuaters, dont they go behind the box. I will try one.

try removing them and see as a 3 way splitter drops your signal.
