Spotify premium account

That's the plan I'm on and I've never had to use a VPN.

Previously on a free spotify account you could use your account abroad for 14 days before they locked it from use....if you were on premium then there was no restriction..or if there was it wasn't enforced.....now Spotify seem to be targeting these accounts ...family accounts to where a user is in a diff country they get booted from the family plan...and can't rejoin due to a country error so must be blacklisting them somehow.

That is what is happening to me because I am being removed from family plans because I’m in a different country I would imagine.
The only way to stop it would be using a vpn all the time or join a family plan in the country you are based.
I don’t want to set up a Spotify account in another country just at the moment because I don’t want to use a VPN all the time.
I would imagine they’re going to be clamping down on people using accounts in different countries when not based there.
Because my issue has only just started recently.
I would need to buy a router that I can set a VPN up on and then I can connect my Sonos smart speakers to it with a VPN enabled for those devices.
I can’t be arsed to do it to be honest just for Spotify.

Try it for 1 month and if you have to use a VPN just cancel, for an individual account the most it'll cost you is about £1.50
Surely that's worth the gamble, I very much doubt you'll have to use a VPN for a Turkish account.

Yes you are right worth a shot. Did you change your location on the playstore or just used a VPN when you setup the app after downloading it?

Likely be wasting your time ...he prob has setup the account a while ago...now unless cards from the country your joining then you won't be able to set up a new account

They are probably clapping down on accounts that are not being used in the country that they were set up in.
Maybe a VPN is probably the only way to use those types of accounts now.
But @superfan is using a Turkish account without a VPN so not totally sure.
I had no issues until recently using accounts from India.
I wonder how strict they are on UK family accounts with six users.
Do they have to be using the same IP address on a regular basis?
It does state on the terms and conditions that they have to be within the same household.

Not too sure mate. Evreytime I used cheap Spotify they closed eventually never complained because got moneys worth. If you get some UK customers together and buy a family account will be cheap

But as I get evreything else cheap don't bother really just pay them £12 a month

Just got onto virgin retentions and got there 1180 meg Broadband down from £43 to £31.50 so that paid for it lol

Spotify Brazil is fairly cheap, a family account works out about £5 a month and there's a yearly option also. Not sure if a UK bank card will work but you can buy Spotify Brazil gift cards so should be able to pay with that.

I have been asking in other places so I will see what happens.
Funnily enough my Spotify is working at the moment on my smart speakers without adverts and playing songs in the right order.
When I log into my account on my phone it’s showing as a free account.
My VM contract is up in a couple of months so I will give my 30 day notice and wait for a call from the retention team a see what they have to offer.
If it is crap I will just go with one of the Cityfibre providers.

We went straight to retentions today. The contract was supposed to move from £43 to £70 we told them no way.

Then they come down to £50. We just said cancel the service we can get it for £36 off sky and they came back with £31.50

Did retention ring you after you gave 30 days notice?

No if you go on the chat. They will make an offer just say NO unless it's a really good one.

They will say we need to send you to another dept if they want to keep you. Sometimes they do call you back. They did last year
