Sprint-Nextel is teaming up with Bestbuy to sell a heavily subsidized netbook, the Compaq Mini 110c-1040DX, for 99 cents, for users signing up for a two year contract.

According to Best Buy's information page about the offer, the netbook in question is a Compaq Mini 110c-104DX—pretty much a re-badged HP Mini. The system features a 10.1" display, a 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 160GB of storage capacity, Wi-Fi, and Windows XP. Oh, and of course, the Sprint deal involves an embedded 3G EVDO modem.

Best Buy also advertises subsidized deals from AT&T and Verizon involving the same machine, but those carriers ask for a $199.99 down payment.
