Subtitles on IPTV

Is it possible to get subtitles on IPTV. My wife is almost deaf and relies on them. When I press the Subtitles button on my Zgemma H2s a small X appears in the top right hand corner. We can get subtitles on streamed movies via an add on but I am talking about mainstream channels that are no longer available on cline

I'm using Whooshbuild ver 6 if that makes any difference.

Any help would be appreciated

Vod has them , maybe it's provider specific
