anyone know of any FREE progs similar to system mechanic or whatever, my pc is running far to slow , i have ccleaner/spybot/malware bytes but nothing seems to work, its turned quite poor since my uefi problem

adw cleaner. just remove everything it finds.

Do you have antivirus installed. They will grind your computer to a halt.
I know what I am doing, but I personally do not use antivirus so as not to slow my machine down.
You can always run an online virus check. Trend micro house call is pretty good.

i do have avast in mate, btw it was the motherboard, it was fried, got a new tower now so all ok, you don't have any av installed ? how are you protected then ?? im intrigued

hey ven,an antivirus is a must,no matter what anyone says.avast is good and unless your running a pentium d,will not slow a thing down.there is an order when you have a slowdown that you think might be malware.first run adwcleaner and remove whatever it comes up with.next run junkware removal tool.it will remove anything it comes up with.finally do a scan with malwarebytes and do the same.me,i run avast,malwarebytes premium (paid version) and malwarebytes anti exploit free version.im running all this on an old phenom triple core with 4gb of ddr2 ram.if it aint slowin me down it sure wont slow you down.lol

i had win7 for 4years with no reinstall and win10 since july.just updated to the latest build.to me a "plow and pave" is the last resort.

An AV is not a must if you know what you are doing like myself then you do not need one i have not used one for over 20 years and have no problems.

Spyware/Malware is the ones to watch for.

Are you being serious or it is just lack of knowledge which is 99% of the issues when it comes to peoples system issues. (As I stated before 20 years without one no problems)

Anyone which has the belief like yourself has been brain washed into the false security an AV can only be as good as the system it is run on and the service updates will always be behind the threat so you have an open window also most AV give false positives I see it all the time.
