Tory MP Hit By Train During Rush-Hour

A Conservative MP is recovering after being hit by a train at Victoria station in London.

David Ruffley, who represents Bury St Edmunds, was struck by the train during rush-hour on Thursday.

The 48-year-old MP was rushed to St Thomas' Hospital where he was treated for "minor injuries".

British Transport Police officers went to Victoria station after the incident but it is not being treated as suspicious.

A Conservative Party spokeswoman said: "David Ruffley received minor injuries at a London railway station on Thursday evening."

Mr Ruffley has held his Bury St Edmunds seat since 1997.

He is a former Opposition whip and shadow police reform minister.

He was re-elected with a majority of 12,380 on May 6.
