True or false, electric car fuel price

I get from that it is tiny engine petrol cars that could get around 60mpg so not suitable for a lot of us.

Some 1.6 diesels can achieve that and would be better.

Interesting comparison and with Electric due to go up again its food for thought.

I´d say he´s only partly right.. shop around.. he at a Shell charger .. Shell is always expensive. My local Shell petrol station is always the most expensive upto 10 cents / liter. Altho i´m based in Germany the principal is the same.. I have a E-auto for 6 months trial and i charge when i´m at a local supermarket for free (if you buy in the store what i´m doing anyway). I have ENBW / ADAC charging card where i would pay 0.32cents / kWS if needed. Just having a quick look at the situation in the UK there are according to EDP - "There are thousands of free electric car charge points in the UK, often located in supermarkets, shopping centres, public car parks, hotels and sometimes service stations. Be aware there could be restrictions such as a set period of time or a requiring a purchase in-store, so it's best to check." So just plan your trip or use the in car navigation to find where to charge.. Also a bonus here is the Greenhouse gas quota trading where if you own an electric car you can get 350€ for selling your quota / year . I dont know what the CHG bonus is in the UK.

I can see the push bikes being the way forward, especially if you can get 50-60 mph out of some and you do not need a licence,Mot,road tax and insurance. How long that will last who knows

With the pushbikes i thought anything over 15mph was illegal i just dont think their policing it.

Son built himself a 1500 watt one, hits 40mph on the flat and around here never seems to drop below 25mph no matter the hill. He uses it for work 12 mile round trip saved himself a fortune.

The reasons I think it won't take off is the great British death trap roads, 16hour nights throughout the winter months and our lovely weather.

Even Tesla super chargers aren’t that expensive. At the moment I think the average price is around 30p per.
