Tuner lock, failed, timeout, seeing a theme with these posts, software?

i just re-flashed the box with stock vix image. i set both tunners to 28.2E. i check for signal through menu-setup-service searching- signal finder, and both did not give any signal. i used my sat signal finder tingy (used for searching signal on a dish) and connected it to tunner A, i got no light from the signal finder tingy. i tried it on tunner B and i did get a light from it. but i still don;t get any signal from the box. but when i connect my sly hd box to the cable it works!
am just thinking maybe the box it messed up.

I suspect that we both have bought (inadvertently) clone boxes with dodgy tuners.

I am in the process of returning mine - I hope that I get a refund!
 
I have returned my box. My suspicions were correct - the box that i purchased was a clone and the tuner was faulty.

I have a refund and will be looking for a genuine box now.
