twin tuner receiver UK

Hi all from bugsy, I am very interested in purchasing a satellite receiver, as a complete novice, i am asking for your help. and advice, im from UK and would like to be able to record 1 channel whilst watching another, most of all How easy are they to set up. I have sky+hd at the moment but wish to try something else, I view Mostley english speaking channels.

vu duo or solo2 running vix,image comes preloaded with image of choice,you need a line to enter into box and using an ftp program like filezilla you send info over to box,setup autobouquetmaker for your channels.
most of the solo/duo tuts are for enigma2 boxes and same setup needed for all.

Will the line from my sky satellite plug straight into VU+ box I will be getting rid of sky soon (UK) Sorry but ftp program? i dont understand does this find your channels? and will i have to subscribe to access some channels. thanks bugsy
