Hey Guys,

Hope your OK.

I've just updated IPTV to the latest version which went through fine, the only issue now is I'm getting Tune Failed on every channel.

I've checked / done the following:

- Cables are still connected and in the correct ports.
- I've ran a search through AuthBouquetsMarker and I get Tune Failed Locked?
- I've switched off left for 2 min and back on.
- Tried doing a search through CrossEpg but I get the same error.

Can anyone help?

I recently had a tune fail error on my Octagon SF8 , for me, it looked like my dish had moved in the strong winds as when I took the box to my mates house, I could get the freeview channels (I had no ethernet cable). When I organised for a fitter to come out, we turned it on and hey presto, it was working again, however, I asked him to get up and check it wasn't the LNB with water in it or something like that.
It turned out the cables/F connectors were badly corroded.
For me, the obvious things causing this are -
The dish has moved
the LNB is failed(waterlogged)
Cabling/ connector problem - Either end (box or dish)

If you can bring it to a mates, and it works on FTA, that rules out a problem with the actual tuner inside the box, then check connections at the box end, after that, you are up a ladder I'm afraid.
If you have two cables coming from your dish, you could use the other to try rule out dish problems

Hey Wheelo,

Thanks for the reply, it's been working absolutely fine... until I ran the update? Could that have done something?

Thanks

Give a step by step as to what you did, maybe one thing had a bad effect on the other, the more info you give, the better

Hey thanks again,

Well it was pretty straight forward... pressed 'portal' -> click IPTV Player which said there was an update available and did i want to update to which i selected yes... it then proceeded to restart and from that point onwards I just keep getting 'Tune Failed'

Hi, what image r u using. I'm on OpenATV 5.1 and I updated fine earlier, but my mate who is on 4.2 updated and it went a little caca. lol

Well to mess things up a little further, I swapped the inputs round on the back of the box and it's come back on... strange thing is both cables seem to be electrocuting me...

It's your satellite cables that actually power your LNB on the end of the dish and make it work, perfectly normal to get a small nip on the finger from the cable if you've touched the exposed cable core when switching them over if your receiver was still powered up at the time.
