Hi, Just trying to send a script to a enigma2 box via puTTy 7.0 and it is asking for a password as well as a user. Iv'e just had a new laptop and had to download the latest version 7.0 think i had 6.1 on my old laptop but thats now in heaven
I know the user is root but anyone any idea what the password is or could i send the script via firezilla or some other ftp software? And if so what folder do you put the script into?

Cheers Dean.

It will ask you to change your password from what I remember

You just run the script, it will do everything it needs

That's why I didn't like this method, I didn't like having to change my pass in yummy and other places

root is the password and then just copy and paste the script in to putty and when its run press enter for it to write it to the box

Iv'e tried that. on my box yes what your saying is correct just enter root and then right click and the script fires up. but when i swap the box to my other box its asking for a password aswell. wondering if the box is protected in some way from the guy who put the cs on it originally

Have a look in the plugins list, and see if there's a password reset plugin, or the John plugin by gutemine. If you download this on the box, it should allow you to reset the password... Altho not sure if available on the repo for your image?!

This is the instructions my provider sent me. I changed nothing in the script and it works

note the whole code needs to be highlighted from where says
wget all the way to the .sh then pasted into the program putty

on putty are you selecting telenet to conver the script ??
telnet mate. it works fine on my vu+ with latest wooshbuild . but not have it on a gigablue box on openvix.. I cant find a wooshbuild image for the gigablue quad+

The problem is you need to update your box the the latest image. you must have a old image not supporting http script.
