V8s open box setup & dish aligning

Hi all newbie here ..

I'm planning on buying a openbox v8s and i have never had one and I may need a bit of advice along the way

So I have been looking on the bay and the boxes are £40+ ...or you can buy the box with a 12-24 month gift & firmware ready to go for £90+

Am I better off buying the box for £40 and then updating firmware my self and look for a reliable cline how much would I be looking at for a reliable 12 month cline that will be glitch free how hard is it to update firmware?

Last but not least I'm going to need a satellite dish there is full kits on eBay how hard are these to align and setup with a cheapo sat finder to astra 28.2e?

The dish I'm looking at is : SKY MK4 ZONE 1 Quad LNB will this be good enough

Any help would be appreciated :)

Buy a box--ensure its genuine and loaded with latest firmware and channel list.
Don't buy a so called gift because 99% are scams---come back to this site when you are ready to obtain a line.
There are plenty of dishes around so try to get the largest zone dish or another offset dish between 60-80cms.
I don't know why you need a quad LNB but plenty around.
You will also require dish pole and brackets and wall fixings plus cable, F plugs, modem/router, ethernet cable.
All very easy to fit and easy to locate 28.2e with a cheap meter.
Have fun and spend wisely.

whats the best satellite cable to use i have noticed theres a few different types on ebay what would be the best to buy it will be about 5-7m run from the sat dish to the box

Whatever one person recommends, another will say different. I use the shielded type because I have over 35m run but I found the cheap one off amazon does the same job but doesn't last too long in the weather. So, it's your decision.

We'll i have orderd some bits ended up going with a zone 2 80cm dish with 10 metres of wf100 cable as we have a lot of wet weather in the north east and a cheap sat finder got it all for under £40 off eBay

I will get this all fitted and tuned into 28.2e before I buy the box my tv has free sat built in so I can get it all working and play about with signal first then it will be plug and play hopefully :)

Bits should be here Wednesday

Just out of curiosity how much should I be looking at paying for a good freeze/glitch free server with all channels for 6 or 12 month?

Thanks reaper for all your help appreciate it buddy

Erect your dish facing general direction of 28.2e [look at a neighbours dish]--now you have a start point for when meter arrives.
Next--attach lnb to dish, then fit meter using a length of cable [about 30 cms] with a "F" plug at each end. Fit one end of cable to lnb and the other end to the meter usually marked at ends with words lnb and receiver [obvious I suppose lol]--Now fit main cable to other end of meter then to box fitting on rear mark lnb [not loop]
-Now power up your box, which should be ready to rock on 28.2e --no need for ethernet just yet. Trundle back out to your dish in the sky and move back and forth, up and down to obtain highest reading on meter. Cheer when done--lock dish and cross fingers.
Leave meter in place[turn down volume if sound on] and crawl back to your box---set up 28.2e for blind scan and now hope you are on correct satellite and you should see channels loading---if you recognise channels then let the scan complete--if the channels are foreign then you have erred by a few degrees so exit scan, find your way back to dish and move to next highest position on meter--normally a few degrees right. Repeat as before and try again.
Tell me if you succeed.
