GTMedia V8 UHD Mars Firmware Update

When you do this it will generate a new box ID which you'll need to give your supplier, once you receive your cline just put it on the USB go into USB on receiver menu then click on the file and it will ask you if you want to update click on ok or whatever it is and the line will be loaded.

I flashed V8 UHD with Mars firmware 28 / 02 / 2023, on the V8 UHD when I go to settings about STB the box I'd is full of X's do I need to reflash to create another ID number.

I've just tried with latest firmware 09/05/2023 and also get box id as all X's

Usually means your not connected to Internet.

Put the line on another box, share to your viark from that and block the reshare, that "should" stop it from resharing (i'm assuming you don't want them to be resharing it to everyone else).

Failing that get a V8 UHD, that doesn't seem to try and reshare to everyone else (yet).

I can only suggest rebooting receiver and possibly your router.

I had this problem. was suggested to disconnect from ethernet, reboot router, reboot box and connect via wifi. This works. box showed id number after doing this.

Yeah if I remember correctly you can't have both connected at same time either

Disconnected ethernet cable then connected via wifi and managed to get box id.
Re-connected ethernet back.

anybody know if the GTmedia V8 uhd and Mars will be ok and work at the caravan.

Glad your sorted mate and yes you should be ok you just need a wifi hotspot from your phone.

I use a plug in WiFi repeater connected to my mobile mifi broadband router or phone tethering, then ethernet cable to satellite receiver.

Being a bit dumb here got a mars line and installed it running .
Added my Usuals etc , how do you scan ,

Go to Antenna Settings, select satellite you wish to scan scroll to bottom you will see Start Search option

Thanks , ah needed to scroll to bottom, blind scan ? .
After I have done Astra 2 , if I do Astra 1 does it wipe the stored list .
Guess it's all a learning curve ,.

Never used blind scan!
It will keep all the channels scanned on other satellites
