I've had some time on my hands this week so decided to tinker with my VU+

I setup the vu+ on the open vix os to get the recording options for iptv working

I've been successful with that and made a joint freesat and iptv bouquet with all channels together called favourites the freesat works flawlessly and records well with the epg populated

with iptv it allows me to record and it works but it doesn't populate the iptv epg its just empty space so all recordings have to be done manually.

I did read somewhere where people were able to get the iptv epg populated by using echannelizer but i'm not sure of the process or how to do it could anyone explain or is there a guide somewhere on the internet. thanks
 
If I remember you are using BMX ie bouquetmaker xtream so if you go to epgimporter it will be in there so go there and press blue then look for BMX and put a tick, then green then yellow. Should work and you can configure it to run daily.

Give it a go. I'm not bothered with epg or recording but I may get a bit more as you are keen to delve.

hey thanks for the reply If i get a new toy/gadget i do enjoy to tinker with it you learn more about it by doing this

i was on willobuild and have backed it up

i'm now on just the generic open vix os that came installed

I do have EPG importer and my iptv bouquet does show up and is selected but the epg doesn't populate as i understand its a common problem and the url epg needs to be curated/edited in some fashion to make it populate i believe e channelizer is used thats as far as i've got.
 
The UNO4kse does multiboot ie you can have 3 images. Did you follow the manual import as above. And have you it ticked in the playlist? have you gone to Vix 6.8.0.1??

can you get an epg on the shield and the others??
 
yes its ticked in the EPG importer section when i select sources i do have other selected also which is freesat/fta and sports and movies freesat those are in the rytech uk xmltv section

My iptv selection is in the BMX EPG section which is selected yes i get full epg in other devices

make sure you have these selected as no in epgimporter. Also are you getting epg in normal iptv bouquets just not in favourites

Do you have a seperate url for epg from your provider it can be added in BMX.

yes both of those are selected as no

I do have an exteranl epg source i use iptv editor for most of my devices which seems to work well

i have entered that url in the BMX epg source url option it didn't populate the iptv epg

On thing i have done is after getting no epg in BMX

i then installed another plugin called xstreamity by kiddac i've entered the same details in that and the limited epg is populated for the iptv which doesn't happen in BMX

/etc/enigma2/bouquetmakerxtream playlists.txt file

Success !!! thank you for explaining that the IPTV EPG populated yay

i did have to do it manually though ie manual download the EPG after updating sources

Very happy thats worked i'll try to tidy up my BMX Bouquets now but thats for another day

Damn :laughing: , whenever I see that tv guide UI , it makes me want to go and buy an E2 box again. If only I could get my plex or kodi on it with all my own movies and shows., never mind . Sure does look sweet to me , that TV Guide.

They are not good foe kodi and plex compared to android which is a different animal.
 
what exactly do I enter in iptveditor to make it work? I had a look and it has 2 paid versions but which is best? This bit, xtream api m3u ur,

I paid 14.90 euros he may have a black friday deal so i'd do the free trial and see how it goes.

do you mind me asking what add on you use to get the EPG looking like that ?

my EPG is currently rather bland no channel pics just text

i assume i need to download an add on to get those i also believe echannelizer was mentioned in an earlier discussion about epg

Thanks for the reply

i did see a post somewhere where certain extensions/downloads conflict caused problems so wanted to avoid that

now its set up and working well i just need to tidy things up ie make it look less bland i'll download the picons and give it a whirl.

edit all downloaded and seems to be working well so thats another thing to cross off my list

Well first thing is make an image backup :smiley: then if things mess up you can restore.

No Black fridays deals even prices have dropped from when I started using editor but everything going off subject this started with BMX and there is support forum for that and discord for the editor and there is free trial. for users who would like to try it out :smiley:

Just one thing with picons better to save on perhaps usb flash drive picon folder not onto device then it does not matter if you have multiboot device picons are always available and you can only have one picon folder.
