hat is the difference between uno 4k and uno 4k se any info would be appreciated i have owned a uno 4k for many years an want another one for the spare room buti can only find se models for sale?? also wondering will a 4k backup image work on the se model
 
The SE has a LCD front panel and also HDMI input. There should be a comparison chart on the Vu+ website.

You cannot flash a "vu uno 4k" image onto a "vu uno 4k se" receiver as far as I am aware. You can however restore settings/plugins from one receiver to another, provided you use an image that does not use the mac address for settings verification, like PLI. There is always the manual method.

Shop around as there are other receivers that could meet your needs without spending over £250. I presume you changed the tuner to a satellite one on the receiver. If you have an android device, like FireStick, you can stream off the main box. There is a Kodi plugin as well. Look for threads by jeepcook on internet as he maintains the plugin. . You can also stream from it using another E2 receiver (applies to all E2 receivers).

thanks for th reply duly noted just one more point if i may on the uno4k openvix under menu then network then utilities i have openvpn and samba but both are missing on my solo2 which i have just flashed with a new openvix image not sure why and i need both for vpnmanager and to flashf xp the box any idaes
 
New image = something only you know. Surely better to say version/date?

For FTP, you don't need those functions. You need to set a password for FTP.

You can install the samba functionality in the network menu.
Menu, Setup, Network, Utilities, Samba.
Please do a dummy software update check before doing that. It avoids a problem some people experience.
 
morning all i am recovering from having a stroke i have a fully setup and working vu+ zero 4k box from which i can get a full backup image the question is can i load this image on another vu+ zero 4k box to save going through all the setup from scratch ?? any advice would be appreciated thanks

As long as it is the same box,yes you can.
