Thanks, but if I connect the cable box directly to the mains connector (without the splitter), then it's working perfect. The issue is that then I cannot use my internet, so I need it connected via the splitter.

I've got no issues with the internet (fortunately)!

You can get a Labgear from Screwfix for around £5 that will work perfect

There is this one for £10.99: 5-1000MHz ;
Labgear PSC120/S 2 Way Combiner Splitter (VHF/UHF)

£7.69, but states Outdoor;
Labgear 2-Way Outdoor Splitter

Or should I be looking at the frequency?

Yours are both for outdoor installs,the one i posted above is the newer vm model.
Old models were 5-1000mhz

I would assume ok as its the older one.

Update on my situation:

I changed all the coax cables around and it’s working perfect. VM had provided me with the original ones apart from the coax from the splitter to the box.

So now I’m using my own coax from splitter to the router, and the official VM one from splitter to the box.

Give that a go.
