What m3u editor do people use for linux or windows

I realise this is probably a N00B question, but here goes

My provider gave me a url like
http://<provider><:port>/get.php?username=<username><password>&type=m3u_plus&output=mpegts

If I save that to a m3u I get something like

#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:0,UK: BBC ONE FHD
http://<provider><:port>/<username>/<password>/10698
#EXTINF:0,UK: BBC TWO FHD
http://<provider><:port>/<username>/<password>/10699
#EXTINF:0,UK: ITV1 FHD
http://<provider><:port>/<username>/<password>/10700
#EXTINF:0,UK: CHANNEL 4 FHD
http://<provider><:port>/<username>/<password>/10701
#EXTINF:0,UK: CHANNEL 5 FHD
http://<provider><:port>/<username>/<password>/10702

Is there a good preferably free editor to sort these into groups? as The complete list is some 24,000 rows

I'm using VLC and Kodi simple IPTV client to play the streams and that seems to work quite well.

My provider only seems to have email support and I suspect they are just re-sellers as they don't seem to know much about anything

Copy the whole line into your browser and it will create an m3u file for you. provider should be offering a better service yo you (n) Reseller by the looks with a little know how ??

the url from your provider is type=m3u_plus, so should be pre-arranged in groups, its probably you loading it as an m3u not an m3u_plus thats the problem. also you should use a decent player app rather than vlc etc. vlc is a good player but never going to be on a par with a dedicated player that allows epg etc

m3u4u.com is an excellent and free editor and once you enter your details there you could well see your playlist is already in groups, if not you can create groups

I have the whole 24,000 line m3u file. I'm greping/sedding/awking it to individual files like , UK, UK movies, US-movies, US-sport but wondered if there was a better tool to organise the information or a tutorial.

The reseller wants me to use their branded application but it does some strange stuff. I don't really want to open some unknown backdoor into my network.

If you take the username password server url and port number from the m3u download smarters for windows and use that should put all bouquets into catagories for you

Download the M3u plus file, then open it in word pad and edit what you want out of it then save it as whatever you want.m3u
