i get it this has a cable tuner, thats fine but in terms of performance is it better/noticable/faster

or the sat variant of twin tunner
Zgemma Star H.2S

i dont need the h265 codec as i have a shield tv etc

thanks

the 2nd generation zgemma's are worth every penny of the upgrade, H2S if you dont have VM BB, H2H IF you do but line will cost more for cable.
performance is like night & day between the 1st gen & 2nd gen boxes

Performance in what way ? Less glitching/freezing on channels ? Faster EPG / channel changes ? Fewer 'blue circles' in the top left of the scree

All of the above, faster boxes to setup, faster button response, faster at channel & epg scanning, faster to load iptv player films....faster in every way... as for glitching...so many other things play a part in glitching its not fair to comment on the box but as a rule 2nd generation products have significant improvements & this is the case with the zgemma range.

I have been testing IPTV from a well reviewed supplier on my 2s and I would say it was alright. Not brilliant ( and not up to same level of feedback that the service gets on mag24 boxes, etc) but OK. Whether the H.2S would be better for IPTV I don't know.

Bear in mind that you can't record the IPTV stream.
