I don't usually comment on requests for best images, but I've seen a lot of posts with people having trouble with the likes of Woosh and iPab. I don't know if this is down to user error or other factors besides the images, but it does make me wonder. I've not used anything besides Sucmnsee's Vix image....tweaked to suit my own preferences - but it's always been solid for me. I know there are some drawbacks to using Vix, but it works for me and never fails. I've set up a fair number of boxes with it to date too.

Images are OpenATV, OpenViX, OpenPli etc.
The ones you have mentioned are backup builds that people have set up from these images to make life easier for people who are just starting out.
The best way to learn is to set up a box from scratch. There are numerous guides on how to do this and you'll find that the best build is the one you've done yourself.

Depends how you want to use your receiver. If you only use the basic FTA channels and IPTV then I find OpenATV is fine.

All the posters that i deleted posts from on here do know the difference.
He asked a question based on three different builds/images not the version of firmware and alternate similar boxes.

I understand the deviation from the original post but if your following those rules applied here you would be deleting posts in every thread created, someone somewhere is always going off topic, i guess next time we say Wooshbuild or keep quiet......

Just stick to answering the original post and then there isn't a problem.

This is not a woosh site, it is a site for all boxes, builds, firmwares, etc.
There are however, as you suggest, many people around here who use wooshbuild, so there is a great chance of getting help with your problem here.
On my SF8, I use VIX, with nobodies build on it, it was set up for me, by me.
Back to the original question, if you are a beginner, then why not just pick a build woosh, ipab, sucmnsee, willow, or whatever, then use it for a week, then flash with the next, try it for a week and so on.
If at some stage you feel comfortable, you could sort it for yourself

if i may as like wheelo has said i just use a bog standard openvix image on all my original boxes,i dont need the extra burdens of picons,timeshifting or skins and wanting this and that that can slow down or crash boxes.

That's why I say diy, and I didn't say it was the best as that's not the question
you will learn so much more, these boxes are great, it doesn't boot you can be up and running in mines if you make backups
