I've been using AirVPN, but they don't have their own client that supports Android TV, but you can use the official WireGuard app.
The main I picked AirVPN is because they allow port forwarding which I needed for non-IPTV stuff.

It's been a good experience so far. I don't use it often on the TV unless something starts acting up.
Their server utilization is transparent which is nice for troubleshooting.

Surfshark is hands down my go-to VPN. It's way more affordable than most other options out there, and they've got apps for pretty much every OS you can think of. The speeds are fantastic - I barely notice any slowdown when I'm connected. They've got a huge selection of servers in tons of countries, and they're always adding more. I've been using it for ages and haven't run into any issues. Plus, they're constantly updating their apps and software with new features.
I have been using Surfshark and it’s my first VPN. I can’t compare it to others but it seems to work fine. It is really affordable and has good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. Unlimited connections is nice and it seems to work fine with my Shield and Z10. I also use it on my phone, pc, etc. I signed up for like 3 years based on a promo they had.
Yeah that's actually pretty decent I've used it for sometime, you can share/tweet for more data.

My normal transfer is 912/95Mbps 15ms Ping on Fibre
Proton UK is - 831/90/15 (There are 469 UK Servers to chose from)
Proton US - 693/51/100 (>1000 servers in various states)
Proton Japan - 420/34/242 (~200)
Proton Netherlands - 864/91/23 (~550)

Iceland >> UK - 178/7/110
