White wine recommendations!?

Started drinking white wine.

I like these upto now

1. Aldi Marlborough wines
2. Tesco Marlborough wines
3. Semillion Sauvignon blanc too

Anyone else recommend anything.

Had some £15 bottles reduced to £10

I’ve found the dearer stuff is better. But seems Aldis Marlborough wines just as good if not slightly better and cheaper

These wines have blown me away as I was always under the impression that white and red wine was hanging lol

I’m struggling to find a red wine to blow my mind yet. Like wow that’s awesome

I’ve had two or three whites that have been wow that’s insane

Even my missus who’s tee total most of the year. Tasting the Marlborough from Aldi and saying is that flavoured wine I said no it’s actually normal wine that tastes really good and fruity.

To the weekend after having to buy two bottles for us
 
marlborough region sauvignon blancs in general are usually pretty good. those are my faves. lidl have a few that are all decent and decent priced. if you like the marlborough region ones i'd avoid non NZ ones as they really do taste different and not as good, like south african etc. they are usually cheaper. there's maybe some exceptions to the rule but i've not found them

red is a whole different thing. you can get away with cheaper red wine that isn't as bad. i'm not a big red drinker but you could try barolo, chatenuef de pape or get a decent chianti - like the movie but it is decent.

if you do a google about wine you'll probably find some help. if starting out, stick to the main varieties d key regions. if you go in lidl for example they have wines of the world as so called bargain prices for what it is, but still say £8 a bottle but it's not to my taste, like sweet instead of dry like sav blanc

another idea is to do a wine tasting. sometimes you'll find a local wine store that hosts free tastings it's usually the afordable stuff so people buy i after trying, instead of stupid expensive stuff no one can afford. those indie stores will usually ask you what you like and make suggestions based on it and sometimes let you try before you buy. or you can go on a proper wine tasting thing where you get to learn about wine and try varies types so you know what the main varieties are like and the difference between oaked and unoaked etc and sweet and dry. but you usually have to pay for those. often people get them as a birthday gift or something

oh yeah and read about wine temperatues. so you don't cool red wine but you do white, but if you cool/freeze too much it affects the taste and you don't get the full taste. on the same note if you have cheapo stuff you don't like so much, if you get it really chilled it masks the taste a bit

Freemans bay Marlborough from tesco
Margaret river semillion Sauvignon tesco
Aldi special Marlborough £10 and £7 bottles

The Margaret river semillion was awesome too. Was a bit weird at first tasted waxy but apparently that’s the grapes.

I’ve had a stellen Bosch Shiraz from Aldi I seemed to enjoy that red wine but it made me spew badly.

So no touched a red since it’s but me off

But wasn’t having the same wow factor with reds it was kinda I like it slightly and maybe I’m forcing it down
