What's new

Why are 4k channels heavy pixelated?

I have a good pc and 1gbit connection. I have tried a few providers and UHD channels are usually always pixelated and stuttery. It's the same issue on all. The normal FHD channels work fine which rules out an isp block?

However they surely all can't be at fault. I have tried with and without a VPN which doesn't help. The only thing I can think of is that I use smarters on Pc and maybe the app isn't the best at handling UHD?

Any other ideas what I can try?

I have tried this application before and faced the same problem in UHD channels, a lot of freezing. I think the problem is with the application. Have you tried any application other than Smarter?

@mrmagoo2010 My UHD stream are fine but not used them on a Pc with Smarters app.
I do have the free version Smarters app installed on my spare Lg tv and they work fine on that and all the apps I have tested on my main device including Smarters.
What is stream format set to in settings on Sparters app?
Have you tried your subs on any other devices to rule out setup issue on your Pc?

I think it's more that your watching on a pc than the streams themselves

They should be very smooth. Make sure they have the proper skysports logo

My guess if it's pixeling all the time is some sort of codec issue you need a dedicated device and obvious a 4k tv

Looks that way. I just tried it with best player and looks good. Weird how smarters can't process 4k properly. Version 1.1.1 has little to no options either
