Why is sky broadband so brutal

Ok I have sorted out friends with the same iptv I'm using its all from the same panel.. we all run it on h2s the same way.. but 2 out of the 5 have sly broadband 1 with a 35mb connection and the other that averages around 60mb both having quite a bit of trouble with it where as the others run BT and Talk Talk at similar speeds and it runs perfect streaming HD channels with no issues.. I asked them to disable sly shield as I've heard this causes issues and both had shield already off.

Anyone any ideas why only with sky fibre broadband they would be having problems and is there a fix??

Do they have ip flooding enabled? If sky have that option turn it off that works for me ob vm, not sure why but it seems to throttle my connection im not evan sure what ip flooding is for lol

He's told me he uses their new sly router er110.. I don't have one myself or it would be out the window..just avoid the plague that is sky internet absolute shower of barrywhite it is lol.

Anyway rant over...he sent me some screenshots of his router settings...the routers Ethernet is set up for gigabit would this effect the H2s as it only has a 100mbit port?

A mate of mine who sets up android boxes to run kodi also said that most sly broadband is shite at getting a good constant connection to stream sports at least. I am with them to and can vouch for pausing freezing randomly on a 40mb connection.

Hi
I.m on sky fibre 38 mb and IPTV on my smart tv is so far very good in full hd.
To answer your question the sky router gigabit setting is there for business use..its a default setting and won.t affect your box setting of 100mbs . A full Blu ray stream is 50mbs, so the 100mbs on your ethernet connection is more than ample for FHD streams.
Hope that helps

I used to have sky and it was fine for me I got a better deal from talk talk so switched, their router is garbage so kept my sky one still spot on

Had him turn the gigabit Ethernet down to "fast ethernet" just to see if it makes a difference..he has also told me he turned off the firewall for the I6 connection..i didn't tell him to do this but I suppose it would disable any ipflooding function if it's part of it..

Yet to hear back to see if it made a difference.

Maybe sky are limiting connections to these types of servers have no idea how they would go about this but just thinking would a VPN maybe help 're issue like using PIA.

I have ran kodi boxes for years without any issue on sly with constant 40mb fibre connection. Now have iptv setup on h2s and running perfect. I know a few people who have same setup as me without issue. Bizarre how same provider varies

It is strange... I have been speaking to others I know who are running iptv and any that have had problems have all been sly broadband customers...they must choke the shit out of their data rates at peak times...even though they told my m8 when they were looking a sale they are one of the few providers that don't do this ...personally I'd of gave it the good old cough whilst saying bullshit as soon as he said it as all isp's do it to a certain extent.
What's also surprising is they all get great DL and UL speeds and the ping ain't high either.. I'm thinking it's their router/hub shit box + whatever settings it comes with that's causing the issues..is there a way of just making it a modem and then connecting up your own far superior router with your own configuration?

If another family member asks me to set up iptv I'm simply not doing it for them if they have sly bb..cant deal with the crying from them when a channel like sky arts won't work where mine is streaming in near ultra hi def with a slower connection..joke like

Aye some seem to be ok... it's just a consistent pattern forming though that any issues had are all with sly bb no idea what it is... I had it when I lived at home with my parents and vowed then I'd never ever have it put in again...this was before they had proper highspeed fibre like lol. so I've always had a bit of a negative bias when it comes to them anyway and this aint helping lol..

Btw i know im talking very negative about this service, im not aiming to discourage people from getting sly bb, that's totally down to you and if you have it and its working fair play. Just don't want anyone cracking up because I'm slating their isp..i know how people can take that sort of stuff personally.I'm not aiming to piss anyone off...i just want to find why these few have issues and is it fixable by a flick of a router option or somthing.

Hi raptur nl
Just a quickie. Are your sly customers connecting to the streaming service with wi-fi or ethernet?
I agree some of the sly hubs are shite
eg the sr101 has awful wi-fi capabilites. I have personally called them several times over a period of a few months.
Don.t forget after one year sly customers own the equipment so can change routers with one caviat..that those of us on fibre are obliged to connect to their bband with a sly router..mine is awful on wi-fi..but no probs on ethernet..which is how my streaming service is coming down the line.
Are your customers connecting having issues with sly using wi-fi or ethernet?

Hi
I do know sky have a policy to block a lot of websites...and streams . A lot of premier league football, and loads of other streams. I can.t insert a url link for some reason unknown to me.But google is The place to start.
Apart from that,I don.t know what is causing your problem. I am using a sly 38mb line with no issues at all. I do have problems getting streams on my 2nd Smart TV using wi-fi connection..i get a buffering msg then stream error on My 2nd Samsung Smart TV..but its working fine on living room TV using smart iptv app. Also Sly dont throttle there bband speed throughout the day..i constantly get what im supposed to.. im sorry i cant help more. Good luck
