Hi its probably my sea lion but Will Upgrading Firmware Stop The Stutter Glitching And Freezing ? my current firmware is 3601HD_23_01_2013_0F1C

Its seems to work fine and then it will start freezing and stuttering and then going out of sync its starting to pee me off to say the least :-(

I do assume its probably my lion but ive tried 2 different ones and they both seem to be the same albeit on different channels.

Im connected Via Ethernet.
 
the short answer is no. if you have 2 sealions try only running one. it is ore likely your supplier is overloaded.
 
It does it with both and there from different lions, its every minute so its not even watchable to behonest :(
 
if you are not using a wireless setup. pm me and i will send you a reliable provider with free 24hr test to eliminate problems with your box.
 
Do you all use the internet as normal whilst having the box on ? ie just browsing and stuff not downloading ?

this is unlikely to cause issues unless you have a really really slow internet connection I.e below 0.5mb most will be be fine running a few boxs still having there ipad /iphone and a laptop running as well.

the internet connection required is minimal as only picks up codes every 8 seconds. would look elsewhere for your issues to be honest am thinking still your line provider but can check on one of your mates satellite and see if still the same take your own infrastructure out the equation.
 
Well ive tried 4 Sealions now and everyone just freezes and glitches im not having any fun :( Got F1 HD on and its really unwatchable they will speak then the sound will cut out and it will come back again the it will glitch and then go out of sync then i have to turn the channel over to get it back into sync

Ive changed leads ive disconnected everything apart from TV Box And Internet, i think im out of options now.

You could run a ping test on your computer
to test the internet coonection, just google ping test
 
When running a ping test connect the laptop to lan cable used in box and open command box and type following ping www.Google.com -t and check for packet loss basically failures should give you an idea if connection is dropping out.

does it glitch when watching BBC or ITV etc or is it just the scrambled channels
if its on every channel its your LNB ,dish alignment or the box itself.......if just scrambled stuff then it the internet side of things
 
the problem is not very often down to internet connection. it is 99% of the time down to the service supplier. if you had a good service provider and you were getting only 0.5 meg download speeds (which is the most important) you would not have any problems. it is worth paying a little more for a good service. try one of the service providers i sent you opengalaxy. if you still are having problems start looking at your sat signal etc.

i think i have solution for you ;) at least it work for me. i use mobile internet very veryyyyy slow and high ping and was wondering why skybox was freezing every two secs.

connect your skybox to laptop and use net for skybox from laptop not router.

then get yourself utorrent and start downloading something from the internet at speed around 1kbps (lowest one) while utorrent is downloading go to skybox screen and check up if it is still freezing.

i did myself like that and it stopped freezing and skybox is freeze and gliching free as long as i keep downloading from the net something. the problem is for sure with skybox firmware. skybox on its own dont need download much data, only bytes of data and its freezing i couldnt undertsand why. and as i said as soon as i start downloading from the net using utorrent to the laptop and laptop share connectionh with skybox, skybox straight away stop freezing.
 
No harm in upgrading the firmware as it is upgrade to gain maximum performance and fix bugs in boxes. What is the signal intensity and signal quality for channels such as sly f1? Many times when it comes to being an unwatchable station it is due to the server you are on, but sometime things can be solved at your end. Try turning everything off at the mains, then just turn on the internet then the box. If your signal quality is less that 70%, go out to your satellite dish and start to turn your lnb to get the peak quality. My box was unwatchable at one point but was purely down to my fault, i bought a new lnb and went to dishpointer. c o m and looked at way my lnb should be rotated and now i get 76% quality and virtually glitch free. Also, you are better off getting a HDMI cable that can fully support 1080_60p if not more and ethernet wire straight to the back of the box. Hope this helps
 
Can you point me in the right directions to which is the newest and best firmware for F5 is it the one in the download section and is there a guide to updating without the possibility of bricking ?> thanx
 
The one at the top of this thread is Jan (23_01_2013)

The one in the download section is March (27_03_13 written backwards)

I am running Jan version with no problems
 
Ha, Ha, Yeah I seen that, was just explaining
the date thing so you know what versions are what.

Have you tried changing the ethernet cable.

You are not using a wireless dongle for your internet connection are you ?
