WilloBuild WilloBuild OpenViX 6.7 Series

Nothing has changed in OpenViX whilst I've been away on holiday, so shouldn't be anything to fix.
It will be something to do with extra conflicting skins installed, storage issues, network or a new plugin that's not playing nicely.
All my boxes are working fine and not heard any other problems from anyone else.
FTP not working is probably a password issue. Samba should be installed and running.

I am using a Clean copy of Openvix -

Openvix 6 7 012 Release Zgemmah7 Recovery Emmc

This currently has no fancy skins added (Just basic ones)

Network seems to be fine its a 1GB Line

USB - I am just testing a theory out but it might be Openvix cant support a USB stroage bigger that 8GB (I was using a 32GB USB) As you mentioned no change myh for sure

OpenViX will support any size storage you can throw at it in my experience.
The 8gb limit is a myth about which size is best for flashing from USB. You can use anything if it's prepared properly.
I've flashed a box using a 500Gb HDD. 32Gb is quite small if you intend using it for recordings or timeshift though.
I use a SSD in all my boxes and record to a NAS.

Hey Willo

I just finished running through your walk through everything installed correctly. So i had no skins, no additional plugins just your OS brand as per walk-through . As soon as i tried to add the ONYX skin and went to change to that skin the box froze. So i did the same thing without your build and using OpenVix OS and it worked fine ONYX loaded without any freezing. I dont know how else to log this all for you to see the full logs to help debug it

You don't need to add the onyx skin. It comes with an adapted onyx skin as default.
Press Menu > Information > About

There is clearly some conflict with KiddaC's updated skin.

If you prefer KiddaC's skin, just install it onto plain ViX or ATV and it will work fine.

The only thing i can think thats causing the issue is when i go to use the following -

I really need to be selecting No as i dont want to revert back to using Openvix default settings & plugins (This might be the reason why i dont see your Onyx Skin once its finished installing because its using what i already have which is nothing) As you know only basic skins are on OpenVix which is what i see

If you flash my build from scratch, and restore my settings backup, it won't install anything but the ViX default skins and my adapted ones from KiddaC.
Just choose a different partition when you flash and make sure you restore vix-rel-IM-6.7-willobuild.tar.gz and not a backup you've made yourself.

You can't restore the backup later because it self deletes.

Using your build from scratch gives me this -

I also wanted to point out after the flash of your script the reboot part does not happen for this stage in your process on the Zgemma H7C

Once i had finished downloading your script using putty. For some reason after downloading the build by box does not reboot so i have to manually push the backup as you can see in the video. Sorry for the ending i was trying to find the information tab for you, and show you all the settings, skins that are there after installation. I cant add video as i dont have any of the supported platforms mentioned

The script backs up all of your existing files to a safe folder on the HDD.
It then downloads my settings file.
It then downloads and flashes the current release of OpenViX.
When the box reboots, you restore my settings file.

I've just tried my AX61 and it flashed and restored perfectly.

This happens -

This does not

When the box reboots, you restore my settings file. (This is a manually option for me not sure why)

Yes, YOU restore the settings file when prompted.

I flashed this build on a spare slot earlier works great and I restored the settings.
Are you able to share with me a video of you doing it? a screen recording or something? i feel like i am doing everything right but i cant tell if my box is knackered or i am missing something. I can flash no problem to the box but it all goes wrong from there
