no, just followed willos instructions.. whats does that do?

It will use the usb to aid the install, for example to expand files in and file storage. If it did the it in the flash of your receiver chances are it will fill it and then wont boot.

I suspect that has whats happened here.

It clearly states on Willobuild installation instructions:

YOUR BOX MUST HAVE A NETWORK CONNECTION AND YOUR STORAGE DRIVE MUST BE PLUGGED IN AND MOUNTED AS /MEDIA/HDD. (PREFERABLY FORMATTED AS EXT4).​

Can the box access the drive?

yes, i use it for recordings, no problems.

From looking at his previous posts he's on another image/build (probably old with blue hd skin) trying WilloBuild but that's just a guess

What is your current image? Menu, Information, about image and version number


Probably better flashing latest image then try a build l. You can probably flash local depending on image.

Right when I try to install willobuild with your guide via putty I get "no space left on device" then after I get to select partition it says "issued certificate not yet valid" and it says " to connect to www.openvix.co.uk insecurely, use '-- no-check-certificate'

It should let you install ViX from the Image Manager.
Check Backup Manager first and make sure my settings backup has downloaded.

They're not called Backup & Image Manager in ATV but they will be in the system menu somewhere under a different name.
I don't use ATV so can't help with how to get to them. Blue button?

All there is in software manager/flash local/online is openatv
