Wooshbuild - Spinning Icon issues....

Hi again everyone...

Unfortunately I thought I was sorted (as the rest of the build is great and really find it easy to use) but this spinning icon is driving me nuts.

Ive got a flash drive in the front of each box for epg, swapfile etc.. and yet its popping up all the time really frustrating seems to come up just before I want to change channel and then its froze until it disappears - is this to represent the hard drive spinning? Or is it actually working when this appears...?

Ive a seperate HDD in the back for recordings (not externally powered though..?) So thinking is this pushing the box a bit as regards ram/memory...?

Changed options in mount manager and still no joy...?

Has anyone any ideas...? I take it the icon is there to stay - wouldn't care only the box is frozen until it disappears even volume etc.. doesnt work.

Seems to be as soon as I change channel the icon appears and stays for a while.

Cheers....

that comes up with boxes under stress the spinning symbol in top left corner, the more plugins that are on box the slower it will go.
only way to fix it maybe to reflash again and dont go overboard with extras.

my old vu solo was the same and could not keep up,one of the reasons why better boxes work as of more grunt.

Hi..

I actually dont have that many plugins on the box(es) but Ill have a look and maybe remove a few to see if that helps.

If I could Id buy a better box but havent the money right now..

Just wondering what box would be a bit better a Zgemma hs..?

Cheers

You need to read set up guide for whoosh build only need usb in rear for epg swap rec etc nothing in front usb sounds like u have not set up usb correctly

I'm also on the same boat. But if u turn off the timeshift from automatically running it should stop. However, if u record or pause live tv it will appear again.

I'm very easily annoyed when it comes to things like that.

Hi..

I had it setup with usb only in the back and was having the same problems so tried this...

Actually was no different without the front usb though Ive read it can hog the box more and isnt a good idea..I'll try it again with the back one only to see...

Yes this sort of thing winds me up too - dont mind if its the odd time.

I cant see why this has to be part of the build...? I can understand the box working hard at times but to freeze everything up is a real pain...

I've tried turning timeshift off and still getting it - also disabled openwifi after finding a post elsewhere saying this might help.

Get fed up with after a lot of weeks trying to sort it to be honest.

I havent had hassle free TV in over a year now.

Would never go back to S** again but have to say there was never an issue when I was with them.

I do appreciate of course that this is free (ie freebuild) etc...and the money saved over a year cant be compared too.

Hi again everyone...

I know this is an old thread now - but just thought Id try and help anyone out who has had the same issues Ive had.

I spoke to Woosh last week in an email and he advised to turn off/disable timeshift and movie organiser and viola!! lol - the spinning icon has disappeared when watching any channel...it only pops up when you actually are changing something on the remote.

So one or both of these were causing it. Like a different box since. I can actually still pause something thought it throw up an error message but usually still pauses live tv.

Hope this helps someone...

Cheers
