We're digressing here, and if there's one thing I won't tolerate it's digression.
I often told my friends I can't be arsed with digression.
I used to ask them to get to the point but they always used to sidestep it, but that was back in the old days and obviously nowadays were all more straightforward and up to speed so that's the main thing, but going off on a tangent isn't my cup of tea.
So getting back to the point, which is another phrase whose origins are long and drawn out, I believe the word in question is CHIPS
