Cable Z gemma Cable in another room ( problems with feed)

Hi .

I have one box in one room and have split the cables on a 4 way splitter so I can have a box in another room. I am getting a terrible picture in the second room more or less unwatchable . Is there anything i can do to help this? the second box is about 12 meters from the the actual feed line. Would the distance the cable is traveling have any bearing on the signal quality? The only other solution I can think of is to run a Sly feed in but I really dont want to do that as I cant receive the HD

Any help would be much appreciated

If it is only the one box from the four, I would check for a cable problem first.
Take out the splitter and use a jointer, see if that cures it, if it does, refit the splitter and only have the 'faulty' box connected, and then reconnect each box until it fails, if it is poor from the start, check the cable ends are made up properly.

Finally where the cable comes in from the outside, try splitting it into two, and then splitting those two into to two, and see if that helps.
It may be that running 4 boxes, plus a router, and any official boxes is just to much of a draw.

I have had it with 3 official VM Boxes and two Cable Modems and the signal just wasn't strong enough, especially if it all comes of the same cable ( a 1 to 4 split) as opposed to splitting and splitting again (1 to 2 and 1 to 2 more)

But dont' forget if your signal is sh!t to start with all you are doing is boosting sh!t!

urm....well the booster i had worked like a charm....could increase with the little wheels etc...

Apologies, not implying anything, just an observation that if the signal is poor to start with boosting is will also boost the poor bit.
For less than £10 it is an easy way to give it a boost, rather than get VM round. (because you'd have to remove all your excess boxes, and that would return the signal to more than adequate)

oh no worries.....i know what your saying about also boosting "noise" ........hope it does work for me mate in Birmingham...

his is split as soon as it leave the main box...where the other line runs too we still have to find out...and then on the end that's behind his TV he has a splitter that runs to the modem and the TV.... his upstream and downstream on the modem all look good....but the tv is at about 70% and possibly...just possibly a booster may work...we hoping any way......

cheers :)
