Hi lads , whilst trying different images to get a vpn installed I've managed to brick my box by doing an online System software update , it now won't turn on . When I power on the box it says boot on front panel and a red light that's it nothing on TV , any suggestions if this can be fixed or must it go in the bin ? Thanks I really appreciate all you knowledgeable people's advice .
 
Just reflash it with firmware from the zgemma site or a busy lad from here


You will lose all your information on the box

Not sure if you can ftp in now and get some bits back
 
I'm not really bothered about losing anything on it , as I was playing around with different images , I have another thread open as I've been trying to install vpn so I don't mind starting from afresh , so the box can indeed be fixed ? I've formatted the stick to fat32 and put the latest ipab image on to stick but still it's stuck with boot on front panel
 
Try a stock image first them flash iPab

Yea the box will work once you have worked out how to flash
A lot of people get stuck sadly
 
Just of the zgemma website

Sometime builds do one weird things and the stock firmware wipes all
But if you do a build on top it can mess up


I normal use the rear works better for me anyway
 
OK if I go onto the website and look for stock image , once that installs can I then flash another image onto the box ?
 
software updates have a habit of causing the issue, reflash with what you had but don't do software update.
 
OK so far I've tried flashing latest ipab image on a formatted stick which has previously worked but obviously not this time , would you reckon it will work if I try a different image ie wooshbuild and maybe a different stick? My big worry is that the box is fit for the bin
 
what's not working when you try to flash? ie does the LED on the box say flash for a few minutes before changing to boot?

is your usb stick formated fat32?
 
after the crash from the initial online update the box just turned off and when turned back on it says boot on front panel and red light beside it . it didn't say flash at anytime
 
Thanks a million I'll give it a go and post back , I'm very grateful for the help from everyone here amazing .
