Cant set up new 780

I assume you are deleting all the channels at the prompt.

are you definately scanning on the correct network ? Ex CW, NTL ?

Why don't you post your area , network and Net Id someone
will probably be able to confirm if they are correct

Oxford 1 N*l, 00020 578250 6887
Oxford 2 N*l, 00020 818250 6887
Oxford 3 N*l, 00013 803000 6887

This is off an old list but might not be out of date

yeah i know, forgot to order one when i got the box, thought the update would have been ok, as i done it through the remote control,
so do you rekon i should get one and start from scratch....:damn:

yes as i said if it was a bad update,reflashing and updating should fix it.
 
00020 is Oxford NetID there appears to be a problem in that area,sometimes after factory reset the the NetIDs don't always show and have to be tried a number of times.

dont know what you mean about deleting at point? i go to factory default and press ok it tells me to wait, then goes back to easy installation page, have tried scanning on all networks, mines is ntl, 6887, and the net id that shows up on my subbed box is 20
 
Try scanning on NTL only then.

Either way you need to stop the "already exists" loop

I am sure it should prompt you to delete all channels.

Do you get a list of Net ids to choose from each time you rescan ?
If it goes straight into a scan its without showing the list, its looping

when i go into sat./tp. edit,
on right hand side accross from 01 NTL, these numbers are there:
tp sr qam
250.00 6.887 64
291.00 6.887 64
579.00 6.887 64
643.00 6.887 64
755.00 6.887 64
803.00 6.887 64
818.25 6.887 64
826.25 6.887 64

i have tried to scan on them all
also deleted all chanells just now, and now it it doing a longer scan , the first 2 have came up already exits
they all came up already exist

To clear "already exists" factory reset and scan on an other provider__ factory reset then scan on NTL,may not work first time if at all.
 
One other thing eileen, have you got another seperate cable feed you use for the internet or do you generaly use a splitter, If you have a seperate cable feed to your internet modem, will that attach to your kryptview to try and eliminate a cable problem. Failing that can you try around a friends house to try and eliminate the cable feed.

hi, i have the vermin that comes into house, one line goes to modem, one to box, will try what you suggest, where i bought it from says i might need 2 or 3 updates on the box, so i have sent away for the null modem cable, maybe if i had it in the first place i wouldn't be having all this hassle, and annoying people for answers,

Can you confirm what firmware is on the box, Menu/System Info.

Reading earlier posts indicate you had a SV, the cable used to update that is the same null modem cable for KV.

Mrs Eileen...I have just come on to see how your getting on and i believe i have seen those 3 words.."null modem cable".. Now IF this is our problem then you must immediately go and sit on the naughty step for 53 minutes...1 min for each year(take a cushion).... ps i always said this cable will make you or break you..!! Get your cable and then get back to us...

you wont believe this..... took it to someone who used to have these boxes, hes now on sat side, he got it going, was a bit glitchy, and i brought it back home plgged her in, she went great guns for half an hour, then scramble or no video, so tried to re scan, nothing, back to where i was last night........ so not only am i on the naughty step, i'm out of favour in the house, with a £140 ornament, ha ha , will give it another go later, failing that will wait on the null modem cable and start all over again.........:(

If it was working at someone house means it down to your cable feed, do you only pay for BB or do you have a subbed box, also been a bit glitchy also means you must have been on wrong net id.

What way did you have your BB are you using a BT hub or what ? also the ethernet must go thru a router directly if possible
 
It certainly sounds like your cable feed to me but you have to keep an open mind. See how the cable to your Internet modem operates on it as you do not need internet attatched to scan the channels in, depending on the result will dictate your next steps. It seems to me you have now eliminated the box as the problem by trying it around your friends. Problem solving is all about elimination and sometimes it can be slow and tedious unfortunately. You may as well leave ethernet unplugged until you manage to get the channels scanned in.

medieum package phone tv & bb, ethernet runs off router, same as it did for sv,

how come my mate could get it tuned in at his, but when i bring itt back to mine it says scrambled or no vid, then when i try to scan it i get nowt, virg are working on bb and tv till today, but on sv i get fta, my signal on the kv is 88 the signal quality is at 0, then jumps every now and then to 79, and still keeps coming up already exists, i sure hope this null modem cable helps me when it arrives, normally good with gadgets, but this has thrown me, thanks so much to you and everyone who has helped and advised me on this adventure with my kv, i may be down but im not out, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
 
Hello eileen, like the boys have said it sounds like your vermin cable feed is iffy..but when you say you got it working at another house did it pick up FTA only or sly movies and sly sports and the same when you got back to your place and it was working for that magical half hour did you only get FTA..? (if you got sly movies and sports then the KV must be flashed already(firmware installed/null modem) and eileen i know your pulling your hair out and i know exactly how you feel (your day will come MAPLINS!!), i can assure you it will get sorted as there are only three things in our "KV pyramid" (KV box,BB,Vermin feed) copyright that HiTeck..! haha. BB is ok so its just box and feed to eliminate now.. chin up..!
