Openbox V8s not connecting to internet

Hi there, Ive just bought a openbox but can't get it connected to my broadband. I'm using a ethernet cable to connect me but it's not working i know the cable is fine as when i plug it into my sky box the internet works fine. My broadband is plusnet fibre, I've tried resetting my router and tried plugging the ethernet into different ports but still no joy. Any help would be much appreciated.

have you checked that ethernet is active in the settings and that dhcp is set to on.

Hi waldo, dhcp is on and there is no settings to turn on ethernet well what i can see anyway.

Can I ask how you know it's not connected?

I can't get the youtube app to play any videos, Also my gift will not work and it says offline in the settings.

the youtube app isnt the best to be honest, can you gift maybe just be down?

It would still play videos if it was working and in ccCam settings it says offline, I think it has something to do with plusnet fibre broadband.

Found your solution, change router settings to WPA 2 ONLY.

I turned the openbox off and on again and reset the router.

Does the youtube app work OK on the V8? I know it doesn't on the F5s.

Have you tried any other apps, like weather & youporn? Does your XMLTV EPG work?

The weather one works fine so i guess i'm getting broadband, The problem now is the person i got my subscription from on ebay has fooked off :(

If you cannot get in touch with your current provider, then it might be best to cut your losses & ask for a recommendation in this thread:-
