Smart IPTV EPG

And now every channel freezes for a second every 30 or so seconds. I think Ill upload the original one before I mess things up.

Ran some tests and can conclusively say that once I have uploaded the newly populated text file with epg codes, it causes any channel I go onto, to go black screen for a few seconds before coming back on. This occurs every 30 or so seconds, and on every channel I test it on. When I load the original m3u it no longer happens. So, I have two options: Go back to a bad epg, or have a good epg that cuts off channels every 30 seconds :(.

Is this a known issue? Could it be a memory issue perhaps?

yes that's right just add your epg codes.
you don't need to convert it back to m3u. you can upload that file.

UPDATE: I added codes to a fresh txt file a few at a time to test if/when the problem arises. My thinking was maybe with memory in a TV it was becoming overloaded and to find a possible saturation point. But, to my joy its been so far so good. I have added dozens and the freeze hasnt happened. I think maybe it was a mistake in putting the codes in the first time. So I can confirm that maddad's technique works a treat for adding EPG to SmartIPTV....Just take care in entering codes. Thanks to maddad, and all who commented!

Great news. maybe it might be tv memory. But good its now working. i think this way you can put the channels you want rather than a massive list. plus you can add your own groups too

Hello mate, I’ve just customised my own groups and lists on IPTV too but I’m also having trouble with the epg. Any chance you could walk me through the process?
Thanks

That's right. It should work with an epg.
If that is your actual link I would remove it. It has your username and password there and anyone can use it

thanks maddad didn't even think about username/password lol
i'm still no clearer than i was before.

these are the only 2 things i got from my provider:
The M3U url associated to your account is:

http://watch.*****iptv.com:80/get.php?username=XXXX&password=XXXX&type=m3u_plus&output=ts

Your EPG is:

http://watch.*****iptv.com:80/xmltv.php?username=XXXX&password=XXXX

Do i need to make each channel entry look like this???:
BBC1.uk,UK: BBC 1 HD,http://watch.*****iptv.com/live/username/password/4075.ts
http://watch.*****iptv.com:80/xmltv.php?username=XXXX&password=XXXX

You can use their convertor. You download your .m3u file from your link and convert it. Then add the missing epg channels

Each entry should look like

BBC1.uk,UK: BBC 1HD,http://watch.*****iptv.com/live/username/password/4075.ts

That is what they look like. Well mostly.
The channels with NO egp look like this: ext,UK: Syfy +1,http://watch.*****iptv.com/live/username/password/4025.ts

I edited a couple of those to look like the others but still no change in the epg status of those channels

I figured it out late last night and have got most of them working now. The epg codes for the channels that weren’t working were wrong. Had to search for them and edit them

My provider uploads the m3u, doesn't send it out to me. Is there a way i can check if the epg codes are correct? Im missing a few

yes that's right just add your epg codes.
you don't need to convert it back to m3u. you can upload that file.

I understood all that you explained and i know that this is an old post but i would appreciate if you could tell me how i can get this modified list into perfect player as they require a url so what would i need to do in order to achieve this?

Can't you add an epg url? Something's like

host/xmltv.php?username=USERNAME&password=PASSWORD&next_days=7

Change host, username and password for your details
